Come join me for relaxed and enjoyable, 3-course Sunday lunch.
We will kick things off gently with a nice cup of tea, drunk from my Grandmother's antique tea cups and then later on we will have the opportunity to sample a selection of delicious British beers.
今日は、イギリスのSunday lunch を 作ろうと 思います。
むかしは、教会へ行ったあと、かならずランチを 家族と食べていました。
今でも、毎週日曜日、家族や友だちといっぱい食べたり、飲んだりする習慣があります。
でも、若い人や いそがしい人は、パブに食べに行くんですよ。
みなさんでSunday lunchをかこんで、ゆっくり食べたり、飲んだりして、楽しみましょう。

=== Leek and Potato Soup(ねぎとポテトのスープ)
おふくろの味ですよ。
温かいスープはもちろん、冷やしてもおいしいですよ。
English leeks are a little tougher and stronger flavoured than Japanese leeks but using negi makes a wonderfully sweet and delicious soup!
=== Seeded Honey Soda Bread(ハニーソーダブレッド)
今日のパンは、ソーダブレッドです。イーストを使いません。そのかわり、sodaを使って、30分だけであたたかいパンができます。このパンは、いそがしい朝でも、仕事のあとでも、おいしく作れて、スープにもあうし、ジャムとバターをつけてもおいしいです。
This is bread is quite close texture so the seeds bring contrast and the sweetness of the honey helps balance the bitterness you can find in traditional soda bread.
=== Shepards Pie(シェパードパイ)
イギリスの料理といえば、パイが有名です。とくに、シェパードパイは、かならずパブで食べらるものです。このパイは、ラム肉で作られますが、きょうは、牛肉で作ろうと思います。
This is a proper pub classic but can be even better when you make it at home. To give the pie filling more body I like to use a combination of mincemeat and hand chopped beef shin.

A simple side dish of sliced carrots glazed in butter.
=== Green beans with mustard, lemon and mint(インゲン豆レモンミントマスタード和え)
In England green beans are popular throughout the year. A touch of mint gives this dish a wonderful freshness.
=== Sticky Toffee Pudding(プディング)
イギリスで、あまいものは、プディングといいます。
「デザート」という言葉は、フランス語なので、イギリスではあまり使わないんです。きょうのプディングは、スティッキートフィープディングです。ちょっとキャラメルケーキみたいで、デーツが入っているので、あまくてやわらかくておいしいですよ。
This comfort food classic could be served with warm custard or simply cream, but I think when its matched with cold vanilla ice cream the contrast of temperatures and textures bring this pudding to a whole new level.
British puddings are commonly rather sweet and eaten warm. I think this might be because its always so cold and wet outside!
