Now that spring has arrived, tours are starting to arrive, but my secret place knows no bounds. 🐿️ After spending five hours walking along a mountain path that takes just 10 minutes by car, I find feeding marks and droppings everywhere, like a flying squirrel paradise. 🍃 The number of natural tree cavities inhabited by giant flying squirrels and Japanese dwarf flying squirrels in this area has now reached 20. 🌲 In the process, I've also learned to distinguish between used and unused tree cavities. 😊
Wrens chirp in the forest, Eurasian bullfinches and bulbuls forage in groups, Copper pheasants suddenly take flight, and I sense the presence of a Crested Kingfisher. The footsteps of spring are fast approaching. 🪹
Japanese serows lazily lie by the roadside, and groups of Japanese macaques cross the road. Mammals are also enjoying the arrival of spring. 🐿️ The Japanese flying squirrels were so close! 🍑
It was a truly special moment, a special experience, to be able to feel the breath of wildlife that has lived without human contact in this cold, inhospitable valley. 🏔️
