The philosophy of Tumpeng itself is related to the geographical condition of Indonesia, especially Java as one of the most fertile islands with numerous mountains and volcanoes. Tumpeng dated back to ancient Indonesian tradition that revered mountains as the abode of hyangs, the spirit of ancestors and gods. The cone-shaped rice meant to mimics the holy mountain. The feast served as somekind of thanks giving for the abundance of harvest or any other blessings.\nNasi Tumpeng is a symbol of gratitude. Nasi kuning is usually eaten during special events but some people also eat nasi kuning for breakfast. I do love this rice recipe because it is so simple! Just put all ingredients in the rice cooker, press the suihan button, and VOILA, I can enjoy one of the easiest spicy rice dishes for breakfast.\n\n\n=== Ayam bakar(アヤム・バカール (Grilled chicken))\n\nお気に入りの鶏肉料理です。インドネシアにいた頃は定番メニューでした！鶏肉の中にスパイスが染み込んで最高に美味しいです！\r\nAyam bakar, is one of my favorite chicken dishes. Back then when I was in Indonesia, ayam bakar was a must eat menu! The chicken pieces are cooked in the spice mixture prior to grilling. During grilling process the remaining spices are applied upon the chicken. That's why it is so freaking delicious!\n\n\n=== Udang bakar(ウダン・バカール (Grilled shrimp))\n\nありえないほど簡単！これは夏のバーベキューに欠かせないメニューです。食べるたびにうっとりしちゃいます。私の母は週末によく作っていました。\r\nUdang bakar, is incredibly easy to prepare and cook. This dish is a must on my summer bbq menu. Whenever I eat this, it rings a bell. My mother used to cook this dish every weekend.\n\n\n=== Mie goreng(ミー・ゴレン (Fried noodles))\n\nインドネシアのやきそば。甘い醤油ソースを使うので日本のやきそばよりちょっと甘め。簡単でたっぷり作れるから来客が沢山来る時はこれが一番！冷めてもとっても美味しいです。\r\nMie goreng is quite similar to Japanese yakisoba. But Indonesian yaki soba is a little bit sweeter since we add kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) into the noodles. It is a popular dish for feeding a crowd because it's very easy to make in bulk and also very tasty both in warm or at room temperature.\n\n\n=== Irisan telur dadar(イリサン・トゥルゥル ・ダダル (Cut skinny omelette))\n\nNasi kuning(ナシ・クニン)用の特別な付け合わせで人気の米料理です。牛肉のでんぶが添えられます。\r\nIrisan telur dadar is a special garnish for nasi tumpeng or other popular rice dishes.
